I would see it just fine when looking at the screen too. I have to order lenses online every time I get my prescription updated now, because none of the retail opticians nearby will allow me to buy a combination of the cheapest (but optically best) CR-39 material with the high-end lens coatings those are reserved for the low-quality (but thinner & lighter) high-index materials.Īnd if I was already seeing chromatic aberration when looking at bright light sources in real life, I wouldn't need the game to add more of it. When I first needed glasses I bought the most expensive high-index lenses, but I was getting migraines until I looked into the optical properties of the various lens materials myself, and switched to CR-39, as the optician did not explain those differences (it's general staff that sell you on lens/coating options). Click to shrink. It should be noted that some LED lamps themselves have an artifact which looks similar to chromatic aberration if they're using multiple different light sources (typically an LED bulb is not just a single LED inside) and it's not properly diffused/mixed.Ĭhromatic aberration in the real world is only noticeable to me when wearing glasses - and I buy CR-39 lenses to minimize it.
